getVOCAL seeks to ensure that victims’ rights are meaningful and enforceable by providing pro bono legal representation throughout the criminal justice process, including initial prosecution, appeals, and parole proceedings.

By connecting victims with experienced attorneys, getVOCAL advocates for the protection of their statutory and constitutional rights, remedies when those rights are violated, appropriate sentences, and legislative change.

Through education and community outreach, getVOCAL also works to equip law students, attorneys, and the public with knowledge of victims’ rights—amplifying victims’ voices and ensuring they have a meaningful opportunity to be heard within the criminal justice system.
